About the role The Quality and Practice Manager is responsible for leading and embedding a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across Somerville. This role ensures service delivery aligns with NDIS Practice Standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice principles while maintaining a strong focus on person-centred outcomes. The position provides strategic and operational leadership in quality management, accreditation, incident and risk management, policy development, and compliance monitoring. It also oversees Work Health and Safety (WHS) governance, ensuring the organisation meets its legal and operational safety obligations. By providing expert advice and support, the role helps drive best practice and service excellence across Somerville. Core Management Duties: Develop and maintain Somerville’s Quality and Practice Framework to drive organisational commitment to quality, person-centred service outcomes and demonstrated continuous improvement activities across all areas of operation. Advise and consult regularly with the Director and COO regarding all pertinent matters related to the duties outlined below for the management of Somerville’s Quality and Practice. Work with management team to develop organisational and program KPIs and coordinate reporting as required against same. Provide leadership, direction and support in relation to quality and practice across the organisation. Oversee, participate and prepare for external audits and quality reviews and accreditations. Work collaboratively with Disability Services teams, as well as HR & Training to support best practice participant care. Oversee incident, compliment and complaint registers and undertake investigations into high-risk incidents and adverse feedback as required. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Relevant Tertiary qualifications Proven experience working in the field of quality and practice Extensive and demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, current legislative requirements, national and international conventions related to people with disability and the implications of service delivery under the frameworks / principles Proven creative and effective management, leadership and teambuilding skills that demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how to support staff in the change management Consult and liaise regularly with members of the Somerville Management Team. Proven ability to develop, plan for, establish and operate quality and safety systems An ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships and networking with all internal and external stakeholders Show a commitment to supporting and adhering to Somerville’s Work Health Safety policy and practice, support, interpret and reinforce organisational policies, procedures and safety regulations to all employees. Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skill in the use of software applications including the full range of current Microsoft Office programs, applications and databases. Proven creative and effective management, leadership and teambuilding skills. Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, interpersonal and customer service skills. Highly developed organisational, time management, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to manage and meet the demands of multiple tasks, competing priorities and deadlines Demonstrated high level of professionalism in the confidential management of all organisational, participant and employee information. Commitment to the principles of workplace diversity. Commitment to supporting and adhering to Somerville’s policies and procedures including Somerville’s Code of Conduct and NDIS Code of Conduct. Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector, or a demonstrated appreciation and understanding of community-based organisations. Understanding of the operational context and delivery of social services in the NT.
