Consumer & Business Services has an ASO7 Manager, Reform opportunity where you'll become a vital leader in an agency with broad regulatory remit shaping the state. We are looking for an experienced and high-performing individual to deliver and oversee legislative reform on behalf of Consumer and Business Services (CBS). This will require managing complex and sensitive correspondence, Cabinet Submissions and Parliamentary briefings, and demonstrating strong political nous and excellent written skills. Sound decision making, strategic thinking and strong interpersonal skills will be required to foster effective stakeholder and working relationships to inform Government policy and meet agreed timeframes. We want to hear from you if you have: Proven ability to determine priorities, cope effectively with high volumes of work, often with competing priorities and to meet deadlines. Experience in managing projects and staff and providing effective leadership and direction to deliver required outcomes. Demonstrated ability to interpret and develop legislation. Detailed knowledge of Government legislative and parliamentary processes. Demonstrated ability to respond to urgent complex requests and provide advice directly to stakeholders. Excellent written communication skills as it applies to policy papers, discussion papers, submissions and briefs. About the Business The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Employing around 1700 staff, AGD promotes justice by protecting people’s rights, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. CBS is customer focused and flexible in its activities, providing accessible information and services. The Regulatory Services Branch is responsible for providing an informative, consistent and responsive service through the provision of high-level strategic advice to, and on behalf of, senior officials, Ministers and the South Australian Government. This includes developing and delivering legislative and policy reform on behalf of the Minister, Attorney-General and Commissioner that is in line with the Government's broader strategy and priorities. Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
