About the role Join us as a Manager in the Group Risk on a fixed-term contract to December 2025 and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our Group Risk Strategy. You’ll lead the implementation of enterprise-wide risk management programs, design and enforce risk standards (including risk appetite), and provide expert risk advisory services across the organisation. Additionally, you’ll coach and challenge first-line teams to adopt best practices in risk management.This role requires strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. What you will be doing Implement the Group Risk strategy and framework with a systematic and disciplined approach. Embed Group Standards and Procedures while ensuring decision-making aligns with Orica’s operating model and risk strategy. Support the implementation and maintenance of Orica’s risk appetite framework. Establish processes to assess and report on the effectiveness of risk governance frameworks and ensures compliance with standards. Undertake training and awareness activities to enhance organisational risk management capabilities. Actively participate in regional or enterprise-wide projects and policy initiatives to champion risk management. Perform specialised risk assessments as requested by the business or the team. Assistin creating or improving formal guidance where gaps or enhancement opportunities are identified. Work with teams to implement consistent and effective risk governance and control processes. Monitor key risks, analyses changing exposures, and provide critical challenge to organisational responses using data insights. Develop and maintain strong relationships to act as a trusted risk advisor to the business. Coordinate with other group governance functions to ensure alignment and integration of risk practices. Support Executive, Board and Audit and Risk Committee reporting. What you will bring More than 7 years of experience in risk, audit, compliance or governance management roles. Knowledge and experience applying Risk Management frameworks and standards. Proven ability to build and maintain constructive partnerships. Strong communication and influencing skills, including with senior executives. Exceptional report writing capabilities. Effective team player with experience in diverse project teams. Skilled in leading and managing change through innovation and collaboration. Strategic thinker with commercial acumen to challenge business decisions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with sound judgment. Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Adaptable and able to tailor approaches to varying stakeholders and situations.
