Add expected salary to your profile for insights As a key member of the Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding Team, this role will embed a culture of safeguarding and continuous improvement, supporting the safe and effective delivery of quality services whilst ensuring clients’ rights are respected and the engagement in their care is supported. The role works in collaboration with our Service Pathways to enhance risk identification, inform the design of targeted prevention strategies and strengthen protective measures to minimise harm and prioritise safeguarding at an organisational level. This role reports to the Senior Manager Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding. Key Responsibilities Delivers measurable improvements in safeguarding and quality standards, with a focus on enhancing client safety and overall experience, through various initiatives including the development of a Safeguarding Risk Profile, the completion of a Safeguarding Gap Analysis and Excellence Roadmap, and review of the Service Quality Governance Framework. Supports the development and builds the capability of Uniting WA’s workforce through coaching, training and mentoring to ensure individuals within the organisation are engaged and understand their respective roles in safeguarding, quality and continuous improvement processes. Supports and assists the organisation to identify continuous improvement initiatives, and monitors progress against expected outcomes and timeframes. Ensures established methods and data are used to drive and design actions to improve safety and quality. Conducts safeguarding risk assessments and conducts investigations as required. Prepares succinct, accurate and timely reports detailing investigation findings. Works in collaboration with the Manager, Risk and Compliance to deliver the internal audit function in relation to safeguarding and quality. Oversees and manages the Standards & Performance Pathway (SPP) audit platform, and maximises its effectiveness to support improved organisational performance through adherence to standards. Provides high-level expertise, support and guidance to stakeholders in the preparation for, and duration of, external audit and accreditation processes in relation to service delivery. Demonstrates exceptional report writing skills to effectively respond to compliance reports from regulators and funders while ensuring accuracy and alignment with organisational and regulatory standards. Manages and responds to complaints and feedback in accordance with Uniting WA’s complaints policy and procedure. About you You are inquisitive and analytical, with superior research and critical thinking skills. You have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to accurately identify issues and to effectively communicate informed recommendations and solutions. You are a seasoned professional with: Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline. Minimum 5 years’ experience in organisation(s) associated with the support, care, welfare or health of vulnerable people, including children and young people. Operational experience in service delivery organisations, such as children and families, and disability services. Holds a thorough understanding of safeguarding children and NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) frameworks, best practice and other regulatory frameworks relating to safeguarding and quality. Operates with a mind-set that prioritises the best interests and safety of every person receiving services, promoting and support this approach across all service pathways. Demonstrates a systematic and disciplined approach to the regular evaluation of performance, systems and processes against relevant review criteria. Demonstrates quality management practices which promote and support continuous improvement activities, using outcomes, risk related data, evidence-informed practice and feedback from workers and service users to drive improvement and improve performance. Eligibility to work in Australia, along with an NDIS Worker Screening, Working with Children Check, and a valid WA Driver’s Licence.
