Are you a seasoned Planner with a passion for strategic development? We are seeking a skilled Manager of Strategic Planning to lead a small team of planning professionals with Wagga Wagga City Council during an unprecedented time of growth and investment in the local area. Key Responsibilities Lead, engage, and develop the Strategic Planning Team to achieve optimal organisational and community outcomes. Coordinate and manage key strategic planning projects from inception to completion within agreed timeframes and budgets. Assess complex planning proposals and infrastructure plans and provide expert advice to achieve sustainable objectives. Work collaboratively with industry stakeholders to identify business opportunities and facilitate strategic networks. Keep stakeholders informed on the progress of key projects and consult them for input and consensus. Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, applications, correspondence, and memos. About You: You will be a skilled planner with an appropriate qualification (Town Planning, Urban Design or similar) with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role driving outcomes in strategic planning, development assessment, and development contributions for the community within a local government, state government, consulting organisation or similar. Coupled with your technical skills you will have proven team leadership skills, driving outcomes through a small professional team, outstanding communication (written and verbal) and a demonstrable ability to engage and manage a range of stakeholders.
