About the Role: Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Manager to lead our Strategy Policy & Government Relations in Sydney. We are looking for candidates with strong organisational skills and stakeholder management who have experience leading the development and coordination of strategic cyber security advice, strategy development, along with an advanced understanding of cyber security policies, standards, and reporting protocols in a NSW Government context. Key Accountabilities: Represent the organisation at relevant working groups and produce briefing notes and other reporting to drive best practice and information sharing to governance groups. Develop and provide strategic advice on submission requests ranging from external providers through to Cabinet submissions, ensuring engagement with technical stakeholders as required. Undertake qualitative research across large data sets to understand behavioural changes from cyber awareness training methods. Lead organisational and/or Government policy and initiatives, through the provision of cyber security related advice, information and/or training to relevant stakeholders to facilitate the appropriate interpretation and implementation of cyber security. Develop best practice cyber security policies, standards, reporting protocols, ICT contracts, and risk assessments. Develop and synergise DCS and Cyber Security NSW Strategies, ensuring inclusion and alignment to remit of ID Support NSW. Provide exemplary stakeholder management through correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs, that are informative, meet stakeholder and customer needs and are aligned with agency requirements, to support informed decision-making and contribute to the achievement of service delivery outcomes. About Cyber Security NSW Branch: The Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cyber security capabilities. At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to: Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats Increase cyber skills and awareness Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems Set cyber security standards Ensure we are prepared if a damaging cyber incident occurs About You (Essential Requirements of the Role): To be successful in the role you will: Stay informed about the constantly changing NSW cyber security landscape, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities and governmental policies. This involves continuous monitoring and analysis to effectively safeguard information, assets and services against potential breaches and disruptions. Deliver comprehensive oversight and strategic value in cyber security endeavors within an all-of-Government framework, while also enhancing collaboration, coordination and synergy among NSW Government agencies to bolster cyber resilience and response capabilities. Balance competing priorities and deliverables, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality outputs amidst competing commitments and promptly responding to emerging challenges. Demonstrate ability to liaise with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in state and federal cyber security policies and frameworks. Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline; or equivalent relevant industry experience. The role requires a security clearance to the level of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) as a condition of employment. An Australian Citizen including the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 National Security Clearance and undergo a police check.
