Job Description

The Team: The position sits in the Office of the Deputy Secretary and coordinates the business of the Clinical Quality Regulation and Accreditation Group and manages key risks and issues. During the fixed term period, the position will work with the Management Group to develop and streamline business processes. The Role: The position provides: Strategic advice, analysis and support to the Deputy Secretary- Clinical Quality, Regulation and Accreditation (CQRA) to deliver the strategic and operational functions of the CQRA Group efficiently and effectively. Management of complex, sensitive and critical issues affecting the business of CQRA and the health system more broadly. Navigation and interpretation of the health system to support and coordinate the development and implementation of the Department of Health (DoH) position on highly sensitive and/or political issues impacting the health system, and development of high-level advice and options as required. Leadership to ensure collaborative and effective working relationships across CQRA, DoH business units, the Agency and Government. Support to ensure the Deputy Secretary is effectively briefed on the business of the organisation, including progress on priorities, risks and general business. You will need: Proven track record in the management of high level, complex, sensitive and critical issues within a health system including the ability to provide authoritative and expert advice to executive management. Demonstrated high level management experience with the ability to provide a high standard of leadership in a complex, professional work environment, including demonstrated experience in leading and contributing to strategic direction and outcomes. High level strategic, conceptual, analytical, and research skills, including the ability to understand the political, social and organisational environment, identify relevant issues and priorities and make sound judgements and recommendations about strategies, directions and priorities within the health system. Demonstrated ability to prepare, present and evaluate complex written documents and clearly articulate complex and difficult concepts to stakeholders in terms that are understandable to a wide range of audiences. Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective relationships to lead discussions, influence decisions and negotiate outcomes on complex issues with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Proven adaptability and flexibility, including experience in effectively managing change, dealing with pressure and ambiguity, modifying approaches and responding to new situations to achieve outcomes within specified timeframes. Details of appointment: Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 6 months. * Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $128,102 to $134,832 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
