All while staying committed to our member first ethos as a proud Industry Fund.About the role The Manager, Technology & Data Risk (MT&DR) position is part of the Operations Division Risk & Compliance team at Cbus, which sets the direction and strategy for the risk management and compliance to ensure that technology and data risks are identified, understood, and managed effectively. This role will be a part of the Technology & Data Risk Management team to drive an optimised and sustainable balance between risk, reward, and support of Operations in a way that ensures integrity, confidentiality and availability and performance of technology assets across Cbus.Key Accountabilities Risk Governance & Strategy Support the implementation of a robust technology risk governance framework for Line 1 business (Investments, Operations & Member Services). Contribute to the development and implementation of technology risk management strategies and policies. Risk Assessment & Mitigation Identify, assess, and manage technology and data risks, maintaining an up-to-date risk register. Evaluate critical technology controls and ensure robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Support technology and data teams in developing risk mitigation strategies aligned with the Board's risk appetite. Compliance & Controls Oversight Ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and policy requirements. Coordinate responses to regulatory reviews and oversee implementation of required changes. Controls Monitoring & Assurance Perform testing of controls to confirm effectiveness and ensure alignment with risk register requirements. Assess model risk controls, ensuring documentation, validation, and change management compliance. Risk Reporting & Communication Develop and maintain risk dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership and operational risk forums. Provide regular updates to senior management on risk status, incidents, and key mitigation activities. Resource Planning Support capacity planning and resource allocation to meet evolving technology and data risk needs. Training & Awareness Oversee risk awareness programs to ensure staff understand and comply with relevant policies. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to align risk objectives with business goals. Key selection criteria Tertiary qualification in technology, information security, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in technology or data risk, compliance, or assurance, preferably in financial services. Deep understanding of superannuation or investment management processes, risks, and controls. Strong grasp of regulatory requirements for financial services providers. Experience implementing and monitoring risk frameworks, compliance strategies, and control assurance. Strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders. Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and deliver proactive risk solutions. High ethical standards, confidentiality awareness, and commitment to fostering a risk-aware culture. Experience working in a membership-based organization is a plus.
