Manager - Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre Salary: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry (SCHCADS) Award, Level 7 Term: Permanent Hours: 30 hours per week (negotiable) About the organisation Neighbourhood Houses are places where people come together and find support, belonging and purpose as they work together to support their local community and make a real difference in people's lives. There are 35 Neighbourhood Houses located around Tasmania. The Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre seeks to improve the circumstances of people experiencing poverty and/or hardship within the Warrane Mornington catchment. About the role Drive the daily operations of the Warrane Mornington Neighbourhood Centre by overseeing programmes delivered at the Centre and managing staff and volunteers. Reporting to a volunteer Board, deliver on the Centre's Strategic Plan in alignment with the Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania framework by facilitating the provision of services, resources, and capacity building opportunities to those within the Warrane Mornington catchment. Duties and responsibilities include: Managing staff, volunteers and services providers. Developing and promoting the strategic vision of the Centre. Building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships with agencies and organisations. Supporting the Board's strategic oversight. Developing and managing the Centre's budget. Experience and qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification or relevant management experience in the community/not-for-profit sector is desirable. Applications will be assessed against the following selection criteria: Highly developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively work with people from vulnerable backgrounds, create a culturally safe environment, negotiate and resolve conflict, and secure cooperative and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders. Strong ability to identify and advocate for the needs of the local community, demonstrated through experience in areas such as social research, conducting needs analysis, program planning and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to lead and enable the planning and successful delivery of diverse projects and responsibilities. High level decision-making and change management skills and the capacity to establish strategic goals for the organisation. High level time management and organisational skills including the capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines. Demonstrated ability to develop and apply strategies and techniques to promote the services, events, and activities of the Community House. Experience in developing and maintaining program budgets and undertaking required financial reporting. You must hold a current Tasmanian Driver’s License. You must hold or be prepared to obtain an adequate First Aid Certificate. You must hold an Employee Working with Vulnerable People Card. You must provide or be prepared to obtain a current National Police Certificate. You must be able to adhere to the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework.
