Job Description

Mechanical & Electrical Engineers - Rail (Multiple Roles) We currently have an immediate requirement for multiple Engineers with either an Electrical, Mechanical or similar background to support a major Rail Company in the development and delivery of various Rolling Stock upgrades.Initially a 6-month contract with potential for extension till mid-2026 and beyond, these roles work as key members of the Engineering team that support all Rolling Stock project works within the business, with a strong focus on design, development, integration, validation and ongoing maintenance of systems across multiple fleets.Roles and Responsibilities Undertake design and development activities whilst ensuring adherence to applicable processes, standards and best practices Develop technical documentation relating to new and upgraded systems and components (e.g. Engineering Changes, Specifications, Work Instructions, BoM etc.) Providing technical and process advice, guidance, and governance Developing and supporting inputs to Risk Assessments, FEA, FMECAs, FTAs etc. Initial mechanical focus – Enclosures, mounting systems, brackets, structural modifications etc Initial electrical focus – Power modelling/analysis, protection, cabling, routing, mounting etc. Skills and Requirements Engineering degree in a Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related discipline RPEng certification is mandatory; CPEng would be beneficial Strong experience in mechanical design, CAD, FEA etc. for the Mechanical role Strong experience in electrical design, low voltage, 12 – 110V DC systems, basic control/switching, cabling, etc. for the Electrical role Experience within Rail or other similar heavy industries (Mining, Oil & Gas, Maritime, Defence, Aviation, Automotive, Automation, Manufacturing etc.) would be highly beneficial Strong verbal and written communication skills Why work with us We look after you - our candidates, employees and contractors are our most valuable asset.
