Mechanical Engineer – Mining Industry (Hoisting Experience Advantageous) EOI Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a passion for the mining industry? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team and play a key role in maintaining and optimising mining equipment. If you have hoisting experience, that’s a bonus! About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical systems within a mining operation. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. Key Responsibilities: Provide mechanical engineering expertise for fixed plant and underground mining equipment. Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations, and reliability improvements. Support the design, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and best practices. Collaborate with maintenance and operational teams to optimise equipment performance. If experienced, contribute to the maintenance and operation of mine hoisting systems. About You: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience in mining, heavy industry, or similar environments. Strong understanding of fixed plant equipment, conveyors, crushers, pumps, and hydraulics. Experience with mine hoisting systems (preferred but not essential). Proficiency in asset management systems (e.g., SAP, Ellipse) is an advantage. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability.
