Job Description

Design, Manufacture and Install FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) Systems. This includes structural profiles, grating, handrails, and many more custom-made applications for commercial, industrial, and mining markets. Duties and Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Technician: Reviewing drawings and specifications, including pre-job briefings to determine what material and equipment are needed. Setting up and fine-tuning machinery including drilling/milling machines, saws, and specialist jigs. Selecting correct tools and machinery. Operating machinery to create components. Assembling and installing new components. Following health and safety requirements. Participating in the planning of projects and accepting responsibility for carrying out major aspects and making significant contributions. Checking the quality of finished products against Staircare Manufacturing Quality Control Checks Lists. Determining suitable material, method, and sequence of operations and machine settings. Safe operation of machinery including drop saw, punch, drilling/milling machines, and various hand tools. Fitting fabricated material parts and assembling them according to shop drawings. Setting guides, stops, and other controls on machine tools including specialist jigs. Pre-assembly of complete crossovers, platforms, stairs, and non-conductive fencings. Disassembling and preparing for shipping. Following safety instructions including the wearing of personal protective equipment (all PPE will be provided). Keeping a safe, tidy, and clean place of work for you, other employees, and visitors. Informing management via the Staircare safety action plan form of any deficiencies including faulty equipment, materials, and damage caused on products. Working effectively as a team member. Holding a current Australian Driver's licence. Having experience with FRP (fiberglass reinforced polymer). Being able to commute to Brookvale. How do your skills match this job?
