Job Description

Reporting to our associate/team leader, the primary role of a Mechanical Services Estimator is to assist in delivering a comprehensive and accurate cost estimation for mechanical systems on various construction projects. This position demands preparing clear, technically accurate, and professional reports for all technical competencies. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: Provide professional cost management services while maintaining an understanding of related professions and disciplines, including associated matters like professional indemnity insurance and negligence, methods of measurement, current contractual forms, procedures, delivery systems, and research and development methodology. Possess knowledge of all services offered by RLB, including Cost Management, Advisory, and Infrastructure, as well as familiarity with the company’s procedures and standards regarding the technical and professional services provided to clients. Offer guidance and supervision to less experienced team members. Conduct cost estimating accurately, including measuring and pricing even when information is limited or designs are incomplete. Complete post-contract work, which entails conducting progress claim valuations, variation assessments, and audits. Exhibit effective job management by maintaining the highest standard of technical knowledge in accordance with company procedures and standards. Identify, through planning and organisation, the resources and timeframes required to meet objectives, communicating these needs to team leaders to assess available resources and allocate tasks appropriately. Continuously enhance professional development, improving their functional competence, skills, knowledge, and experience to consistently deliver service excellence while demonstrating resilience with challenging issues or projects. Encourage and support other staff to operate within the standards established in the RLB Policies and Procedures; Technical Manual; WHS Manual; and additional corporate operating procedures. Demonstrate customer service by taking a genuine interest in clients and showing urgency, energy, and enthusiasm in addressing their needs, including the ability to adapt to their changing demands while upholding high quality standards.
