We are looking for a skilled and uplifting Media Content Marketing Officer who can balance creativity and strategy to promote the NT Writers Festival and the NT Writers Centre’s annual development program, while building brand recognition and reach. Your new organisation NT Writers’ Centre (NTWC) supports, develops and showcases writing and storytelling in the Northern Territory, celebrating the unique contribution of NT stories and storytellers to Australia’s cultural identity. We play a significant role in the national arts sectors, delivering a range of events, programs, publications, writing awards and the festival, ensuring that NT writers and writing are celebrated in the national canon. We are a national leader in platforming First Nations voices and writers with up to a third of artists at our annual festival being First Nations, from the NT and interstate. We are also a leader in Asian engagement, making connections in the region through our biennial Darwin festival. Our cornerstone event – the NT Writers Festival (NTWF) – is the Northern Territory’s premier literary showcase. It is an extraordinary festival that brings readers and writers together to celebrate ideas, words, stories and languages. Held alternately in Darwin and Mparntwe/Alice Springs since 2002, the festival takes place in iconic outdoor locations that celebrate the NT’s unique environments and that reflects the NT’s distinctive culture, including its rich First Nations heritage. We have four program areas to support writers in all genres at all stages of their writing careers: an annual program of writers’ development workshops and residencies; the NT Writers’ Festival; prizes and awards; and supporting authors towards publication. A little about the role You will be part of a small, skilled, experienced and motivated team who are caring, bold, respectful and inclusive in the arts and literature sector. We have an office in Mparntwe | Alice Springs and Garrmalang | Darwin, with WFH/remote options for the right candidate. You will be responsible for implementing the Festival Marketing plan, developing collateral and brand consistency, and audience mapping and strategy to build our online networks and reach. Success will be measured by increased Festival diversity and attendance from local and interstate visitors. Experience and knowledge of how marketing works well in NT contexts is essential. You will be focused on: Implementing and enhancing the Festival marketing plan Researching our target audience to map the strongest plan for engagement Establishing promotional opportunities for the Festival through existing networks Planning and delivering all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns Working closely with the Artistic Director to establish Festival collateral (NT Author bookmarks, posters, printed program, banners etc) Measuring and reporting performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assessing against goals (ROI and KPIs) Your day to day responsibilities will include: Developing and delivering the existing Festival Marketing Plan for 2025 (event in June 2025). Develop and deliver in-house graphic design for annual writers development program Building marketing campaigns to increase our social media presence Supporting NTWF brand positioning Support quality improvement processes such as:Enhancing the value of the website Develop a basic style guide for the NTWF and NTWC to ensure consistency in graphic designs and posts Customer Relationship Management programs and client communications About You You will be a degree qualified marketing professional with experience in audience mapping and engagement, as well as content creation and delivery. You will think boldly, while acting inclusively. You can complete tasks, be responsive to changing needs and maintain focus on goals and become an essential member in the team. Ideally you will have literature and arts related experience, and/or have worked in marketing roles that service local communities or regional settings. You will have a proven experience of making a difference with your campaigns, increasing the reach of an organisation and engagement with its programs. You will also come with: Demonstrated experience in creating, delivering, tracking and reporting on marketing campaigns (online and offline) Competent Canva, Photoshop, Adobe design skill and use of social media platforms, including websites. Strong ability to manage priorities, lead projects and contribute to the team and the organisation. Knowledge and experience of working in Northern Territory contexts. Experience developing and delivering regional arts programs. Understanding of NT arts sector and local networks. Capacity to work some flexible hours. Current Working with Children check.
