Maternity Leave Cover for 6 months at a 0.5 About Us The Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine (VIFM) provides world-leading independent forensic medical and scientific expertise to the justice system, tissue for transplantation and conducts teaching and research in forensic medicine and science. The VIFM provides the justice system with the crucial evidence that underpins safe convictions and appropriate acquittals. Our doctors and scientists investigate deaths reported to the Coroner, examine alleged offenders and medically assess and support victims of crime. The Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria (DTBV) supports patients and their families by providing safe tissues to medical specialists and Victorian hospitals for transplantation and medical research. Our medical and scientific staff members undertake research that directly contributes to public health and safety and the just working of our legal system. By contributing to the professional development and education of forensic pathologists, physicians, and scientists, we ensure a high standard of forensic medical services for Victoria and provide critical support for our healthcare and justice systems. About the Role Passionate about high-quality medical service delivery? Join our Medical Services Division which includes the departments of Forensic Pathology and Clinical Forensic Medicine. This role will provide support to, and work with the Chief Medical Officer to provide professional medical leadership and clinical guidance in relation to strategic and operational projects as required, with a particular focus on managing and supporting the senior and junior clinical staff of VIFM. This position will have an active role in liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to areas of project management, service provision, operational efficiency, clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management, patient experience, staff engagement and satisfaction. This role will also work collaboratively with the Forensic Support Services to support recruitment, workforce planning, credentialing, orientation, roster management, training, education, performance review and welfare at VIFM. The role is performed on-site at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine in Southbank but may involve service provision at a variety of other sites across metropolitan Melbourne and regional sites, in the State of Victoria. Sites include but are not limited to; Multi-Disciplinary Centres (MDCs), Crisis Care Units in hospitals and Police Stations. About You You are a compassionate and dedicated Medical Administration Registrar who thrives in collaborative, community-minded, and patient-centric environments. Key Qualifications and Attributes Bachelor of Medicine or MBBS or equivalent. Current full general registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA). Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience Ability to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals from various disciplines and capacities. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Enrolment and maintenance of your candidacy in the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) Fellowship Training Program. Enrolment in the prescribed RACMA post-graduate qualifications in management and leadership.
