Job Description

Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mines in the world and we operate the world’s largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia – so you’re joining a very unique team! As a team member, you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earth metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines. An opportunity exists for an experienced Medical Emergency Services Officer (MESO) to join Lynas Rare Earths. This role is responsible for assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and management of the site's Medical and Emergency Services systems and processes at Mt Weld operation. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster. As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will: Use assumptions from data interpretation to implement further monitoring programs/controls to confirm trends. Have expertise in reviewing documentation and writing reports, as well as strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising and communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrate experience in designing, developing, and maintaining effective integrated management systems (IMS), including proficiency in IMS auditing. Have a sound understanding of applicable HSE legislation, standards, and codes of practice. Demonstrate experience in the application of HSE legislation relevant to mining practices. Provide clarity and advice relating to HSE statutory requirements, along with experience in managing interactions with regulators and external bodies regarding HSE performance. Engage with broad-based stakeholders with a specific focus on near-mine communities. Manage HSE projects and issues effectively. Qualities We Value: Experience working in the mining industry in a similar role, including coordinating an emergency response team and writing and reviewing medical and emergency procedures. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Efficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to work productively with limited supervision. Proactive in recognizing problems/risks towards the company and solutions to mitigate or eliminate these risks. Exceptional relationship-building skills. Skills Required: Minimum Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance). Minimum Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue. Minimum C Class Driver's Licence (MR Class Driver's Licence is desirable). Ability to collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).
