As a Merchandise Category Manager , you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies to drive sales, optimize product assortment, and enhance customer experience. You will work closely with suppliers, marketing, and sales teams to ensure our paint accessories range aligns with market demand and company objectives. Responsibilities: Range Management: Plan, source and manage a competitive range of paint accessories in line with business strategy and which creates a compelling shopping offer for our customers. Sales & Performance Analysis: Management of budgets and forecasts, and execution of category range reviews. Monitor category performance, analyze data, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements. Supplier & Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage supply chain efficiencies. Market & Trend Analysis: Identification and leveraging of market insights on product, competitor and customer trends. Promotions & Marketing: Work with the marketing team to develop promotions, pricing strategies, and merchandising plans to drive sales. Inventory Management: Ensure optimal stock levels and reduce slow-moving inventory through effective planning. About you: Proven experience in category management, buying, merchandise planning and sourcing (experience in paint accessories, hardware, or DIY retail is a plus). Strong communication and collaboration abilities across teams. Ability to analyze holistically with strong business acumen. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to drive decision-making. Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. A passion for home improvement, hardware, or paint-related products is a bonus! Desirable: Background or exposure to hardware or paint/surface coatings retailing. Post-graduate qualifications.
