The Role: An opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Community Mental Health Clinician (Grade 3 registered Psychiatric Nurse) to join the Merri-bek Community Team located in Coburg within Northern Health’s Mental Health Division. The Merri-bek Community team is a large, supportive, and dynamic public mental health team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government area of Moreland and Hume. We are recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician/RPN3 to work within the Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) function of the team. This role involves working predominantly shift work, providing acute assessment and intervention to consumers and their families/carers in both an in-reach and outreach capacity. The clinicians working within ACIS will work with a shared caseload of acute consumers and provide evidence-based, recovery-focused interventions to support and improve the lives of the consumers and carers of our service. The clinicians working within ACIS will also provide short-term intensive support for up to 3 months for appropriate consumers and be identified as the key contact person for ACIS consumers. This position involves working shift work 7 days per week between the hours of 8.30am and 10.30pm. This position is part-time, 80 hrs/fortnight, and is a 12-month fixed-term position - covering maternity leave. To be successful in this role you will have: Registration with AHPRA and postgraduate qualification in psychiatric nursing At least two years of experience post-qualification A passion for contributing positively to the lives of consumers with mental illness and their families Experience in the provision of psychiatric assessment and intervention for consumers with a mental illness - preferably in a public mental health setting but this is not essential Ability to provide general and discipline-specific mental health assessment and intervention Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously Next Steps . .
