Job Description

About the role Do you love the outdoors? Are you comfortable working alone? Do you like the sound of being your own boss? Picture this! You wake up in the morning and plan your day. As a meter reader, you have the freedom of structuring your time around your family and personal commitments. You’ll be outdoors (in all weather conditions - rain, wind, or sun) but that doesn’t faze you; after all, you're keeping fit and healthy. Who are we? When you join Water Corporation, you play an important role for the people of WA. Our services are essential for life - every day, millions of Western Australians rely on us to deliver and manage water across our state. If you’re driven to make a meaningful contribution, you’ve come to the right place. Real benefits that matter Real flexibility with options to work from home, 9-day fortnight, and flexible work hours. Two well-being days each year to do whatever you need to feel good. Access to long service leave pro rata after 3 years of service. Generous co-contribution superannuation scheme, which offers up to 15.5%. This includes an 11.5% standard employer contribution, plus an additional 2% employer co-contribution that matches your own 2% contribution. Purchase additional leave of up to 12 weeks or work 4 years at a reduced salary and take the fifth year off as paid leave. What you can expect with this role You’ll be conducting meter readings, testing taps, and assisting with the maintenance of meters. You’ll be identifying water issues, reporting meter access issues, and non-compliant water services, reviewing meter reports, and assisting with customer queries. Your day will also include a lot of walking (over 10km per day), so you need to be physically fit, comfortable working alone, and you must always put safety first. This includes travel to outer lying areas, including Kalbarri, Meekatharra, and other regional towns, with generous allowances. Your skills and experience If you're local to the Geraldton area, hold a WA Driving Licence (Class C), have a strong awareness of safety, and can walk over 10km a day while being comfortable working alone, this could be a great job for you. Sound like a match? Apply today If you are interested in the above opportunity, please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your skills and experience as well as your ability to meet the requirements of the role.
