About the Role As a Midwifery Unit Manager, you'll provide essential support across staffing, human resources, financial administration, patient flow, risk management, and accreditation processes. You'll collaborate closely with Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers, Directors of Nursing, and other health professionals to ensure the smooth operation of midwifery services. This includes overseeing after-hours management, staff allocation, and patient/client access. You'll have the opportunity to lead projects, manage services, and contribute to continuous quality improvement, all while championing woman and family-centred care. Your leadership will foster a positive, safe work culture and drive excellent patient outcomes. Essential Criteria Be registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Hold a current practicing certificate with at least 3 years of post-registration experience. Proven leadership and management skills with experience in managing midwifery practice or services. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A commitment to providing exceptional, woman-centred care. Applicant Information There are 2 positions available, one based in the Riverland managing Midwifery Group Practice services at Riverland General Hospital and Loxton Hospital Complex and the other one based at Murray Bridge managing Midwifery Group Practice services at Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements: DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC). National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients).
