About the Role As a Midwifery Unit Manager, you'll provide essential support across staffing, human resources, financial administration, patient flow, risk management, and accreditation processes. You'll collaborate closely with Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers, Directors of Nursing, and other health professionals to ensure the smooth operation of midwifery services. This includes overseeing after-hours management, staff allocation, and patient/client access. You'll have the opportunity to lead projects, manage services, and contribute to continuous quality improvement, all while championing woman and family-centred care. Your leadership will foster a positive, safe work culture and drive excellent patient outcomes. Essential Criteria Be registered Midwife or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Hold a current practicing certificate with at least 3 years of post-registration experience. Proven leadership and management skills with experience in managing midwifery practice or services. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A commitment to providing exceptional, woman-centred care. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements: DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC).
