Job Description

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is owned by Equinox Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil. Greenstone Mine is seeking a Mill Helper to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Operations Shift Supervisor, the Mill Helper is responsible for the mill’s day-to-day activities safely while ensuring production and quality requirements are within guidelines. The Mill Helper will be collaborating with all other departments as a team, to achieve set out budgeted targets. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Ensure adherence to all pre-operational checks and procedural requirements to safely start-up, efficiently operate, and safely shutdown all process equipment. Have a strong commitment to Safety First. Support Operators in their duties in all sectors such as: Grinding/Floatation Reagents/Elution Crushing, etc. Ensure all aspects of operation, environmental policies and practices are followed, keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority. Coordinate and communicate operations in a timely and effective manner with other departments (i.e., Maintenance, Mining, etc.). Inspect circuits regularly to detect any areas of concern and arrange maintenance as required. Operate all equipment in accordance with Company policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Assist the Millwright during maintenance work and production shutdowns. Operate various pieces of auxiliary and mobile equipment when required. Share best practices and experiences with other operators to promote a strong and successful teamwork environment. Report all incidents/accidents to the Supervisor. Other related duties may be assigned as part of the progression plan. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: Self-motivated and safety conscious. Willing to learn. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: Equivalent industrial experience is considered an asset. LOCATION: This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
