We are recruiting for multiple Senior Communication Business Partners for 12-month fixed-term positions to cover parental leave vacancies across the team. As a key trusted and strategic advisor, you will partner with and provide guidance and counsel to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the College or Portfolio and their leadership teams to shape and develop an integrated strategic communications plan that supports the strategic direction, goals and objectives of the area. You will actively engage with the College or Portfolio executive teams and work with autonomy to meet the needs of your client group. You will take responsibility for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s communications and engagement activities to maximise and showcase RMIT’s impact, manage risks and issues and support staff engagement through the development and implementation of a comprehensive content strategy focused on creating an aligned narrative that shares the College or Portfolio story to both internal audiences, across RMIT globally, and externally. You will also be responsible for leading multi-discipline campaigns, streams of work and projects as well as developing and maintaining outstanding cross-functional relationships across the University and the wider Communications team. This may include working with multiple delivery partners to achieve a shared outcome. Education sector experience is not essential; however, if you have a passion for communicating the arts, research, business or vocational education then please get in touch. These are not marketing roles – communications experience, either in internal communications and/or external communications is essential. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: Demonstrated experience in business partnering, managing complex stakeholders and priorities, with the ability to deliver impactful communications in a timely and responsive way. Experience working in an issues-rich environment and can lead, manage and execute multiple projects. Had responsibility for leading a high-performing team or coaching and mentoring staff in a high-performing team. Strong professional writing and editing skills, including writing for multiple audiences in various formats both print and digital environments. Sound knowledge of industry-leading communications best practice to effectively select the most beneficial channel mix depending on audience and desired outcomes. Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and information to develop a thorough understanding of stakeholder motivations and preferences and opinions.
