Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical/dental practitioners for the above position(s) in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. The position will be primarily located at Hawkesbury District Hospital within the Department of Anaesthesia. Responsibilities: Successful applicants will be responsible for expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Department of Anaesthesia. This position is sessional and involves an on-call roster. Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. Minimum Requirements: Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Possess Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997 and Public Hospital (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination, and/or demonstrated at least 5 years’ experience in delivering and managing Anaesthesia care in both elective and emergency settings. Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position. Sound clinical knowledge in Anaesthesia demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position including evidence of participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical/Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior medical staff. Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
