Remuneration : $121,658 - $124,607 per annum + super Employment Type : Temporary Full Time until March 2026 Position Classification : Occupational Therapist Lvl 4 Location : John Hunter Hospital Hours Per Week : 38 Requisition ID : REQ554104 Applications Close : Thursday, 27th February 2025 Where You'll Be Working We’re excited to offer a brand-new Occupational Therapy position at John Hunter Hospital (JHH), working alongside a newly established Social Work role and the NDIS Lead Manager. In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with ward staff to support patients with complex needs, helping to streamline discharge planning and reduce hospital stays. As part of the Occupational Therapy Department at JHH, you’ll receive professional support while reporting to the NDIS Lead Manager (currently the Service Manager for Occupational Therapy) for your day-to-day activities. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact in a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving patient outcomes. About The Role No two days will be the same in this dynamic role! Your daily activities will be shaped by the evolving needs of inpatients, hospital priorities, and the development of effective escalation plans. You'll play a key role in connecting patients with essential support services, guiding staff through complex problem-solving, and ensuring smoother transitions of care. Additionally, data capture and reporting will be crucial in shaping and solidifying this position, helping to demonstrate its impact and embed it as a vital part of the hospital's support network. A professional development program will be developed through consultation with the successful applicant. Professional support available through the Medical and Surgical Team Leaders and JHH NDIS Lead, LHD NDIS Program Coordinator. About You You will have a good understanding of NDIS processes and services and challenges, especially from a Hospital / Health perspective. You will be able to communicate effectively with a variety of clinicians and service providers and enjoy the challenge of establishing a new position and have good report writing and data collection skills. Requirements Must hold a Degree Diploma or Masters in Occupational Therapy; Current Registration with AHPRA. Eligibility to drive in NSW.
