As we continue to innovate, we are developing a suite of services to deliver value from distributed energy assets operating in the National Electricity Market (NEM). To support this transition, we are seeking a talented Operations Manager – NEM to manage market participation, oversee regulatory compliance, and ensure seamless settlements operations with AEMO. Role Summary: The NEM Operations Manager will be responsible for managing Kuga Energy’s application and registration process with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). The role will also oversee the implementation of systems, processes, and compliance frameworks to facilitate market-facing operations, settlements, and regulatory obligations under the National Electricity Rules (NER). This pivotal position will play a key role in Kuga Energy’s strategy to expand into energy trading, demand response, and ancillary services markets. Key Responsibilities: Manage Market Participation activities for distributed energy assets. Support the development and submission of the application to become a registered Market Participant with AEMO. Develop and build operational, technical, compliance and IT processes and systems to allow Kuga Energy to participate in the NEM. Manage the setup and maintenance of secure connections to AEMO systems, including MarketNet and e-Hub, ensuring operational integrity and compliance. Develop and execute bidding, dispatch and market trading activities to maximise revenue from the NEM. Ensure compliance with AEMO rules, the NER and requirements for integrated resource providers, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and reporting standards. Manage operational readiness for energy trading, wholesale arbitrage, demand response, and ancillary services like FCAS. Oversee accurate and timely financial reconciliations, settlements, and prudential obligations with AEMO. Work closely with the Finance Manager to monitor and optimise credit support arrangements. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to design and execute strategies for distributed energy assets and new market-facing products. Key Requirements: 3 years experience in NEM operations and settlements. Strong knowledge of AEMO’s market systems (MarketNet, e-Hub) and the National Electricity Rules (NER), including market registration, prudential requirements, and settlements. Deep understanding of regulatory compliance in the NEM, with experience in managing audits, reporting obligations, and risk mitigation strategies. Proficiency in managing settlements workflows, financial reconciliations, and credit support arrangements with AEMO. Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams, including Finance, IT, and senior leadership. Ability to align market operations with broader business strategies and identify opportunities for growth in the energy markets. Familiarity with energy trading platforms, compliance reporting tools, and IT systems used in NEM operations. Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. #J-18808-Ljbffr
