Position Classification : Staff SpecialistEmployment Type : Temporary Part TimeHours Per Week : up to 20Duration : until 13 April 2026Purpose of the Position Provide clinical management and treatment of patients under your care in a Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) facility or service. This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC). The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates, and other health care professionals, as well as to research, evaluation, and quality improvement activities within the District.The successful candidate will be expected to provide new services within the Neurology Department at HKH. The role will entail the following duties: Provision of a rapid access / TIA clinic. Likely commencement and development of Neurophysiology services at HKH. Medical education in order to provide a formalised neurology teaching program. It is expected that the candidate will have at least level 2 or is working towards level 2 Neurophysiology accreditation. A strong emphasis on teamwork and commitment towards teaching is also highly recommended. This position is temporary with the possibility of temporary extension based on performance, funding, and need. Selection Criteria MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 3 months may be considered. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
