Job Description

Must have had a previous Australian Geotechnical Engineering Senior Role and be an Australian citizen with a current driver's license. Must be degree qualified (Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology) and be able to conduct a wide range of projects covering Geotechnical Investigations, Site Inspections, Pavement Design, Slope Stability, Site Classifications, Modelling and Fieldwork (DCPs, SPTs, CPTs, logging). Able to lead a team of Engineers and Geotechnicians and project manage the respective clients' needs. Ability to plan, resource and control projects effectively and safely to ensure work is completed on time and within budget. Ability to plan, coordinate resources and brief personnel on project tasks in accordance to realistic and timely plans and budget forecasts. Monitor and review projects and ensure action is taken if deliverables or deadlines are not being achieved and identify potential problems and obstacles of the project to develop contingencies. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients with excellent communication, high-quality service and timely delivery, develop new clients from existing contacts, referrals or opportunities. Demonstrated passion for the geotechnical engineering field , with software, communication and report writing skills essential. Provide cross-selling opportunities for environmental, remediation and laboratory projects. Travel for projects and be proficient and autonomous in project design, sampling, conducting & managing fieldwork. Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, external organisations, government, academia, media and other interested parties. The Geotechnical Engineering Manager must have at least 10-15 years local experience, relevant qualifications and also have field experience and report writing skills on Australian projects. Ideal experience includes management, business development, field work, report writing, proposal writing and project management and would be expected to have and will have a key focal point for client liaison and report preparation and review.
