About the roles! As a Network Engineer, you will ensure the availability, performance, and maintenance of the PTA’s network infrastructure, delivering reliable services to meet customer needs. This role involves providing first and second-line support for Ethernet network systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and IP telephony systems. You will monitor network performance, implement solutions to enhance systems, and contribute to the renewal of continuity plans. Your expertise will be essential in guiding and supporting colleagues while developing effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders. The role also involves analysing network performance, recommending improvements, and supporting technology projects by preparing technical documentation and offering expert input. Staying updated on computing trends, particularly Ethernet networks, and sharing knowledge within the team are vital aspects of this position. To excel in this role, you should possess: Possession of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification with experience in Ethernet network systems, including Cisco Catalyst, Nexus switches, routers, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, IP telephony, fibre-channel switching, and F5 load balancing. Proficiency in Cisco ACI, DCI Technologies, SDA – DNAC/Catalyst Centre, Identity Services Engine, and SDWAN. Extensive knowledge of network operating systems (Windows, Linux) and services such as DNS, DHCP, Internet domain, and IP address management. Network Support Officer In this role, you will support the performance, availability, and maintenance of the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) Ethernet network systems. You'll assist in analysing system performance, identifying problem areas, and proposing solutions to enhance services. Proactively contributing to system improvements, you'll help document network designs, update continuity plans, and share knowledge with your team while staying up to date with emerging technologies. Your responsibilities will include day-to-day administration of network systems such as Ethernet switches, routers, firewalls, and IP telephony. You'll provide technical support to staff and customers, working in line with Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements. Additionally, you'll assist with project documentation and support the development of strategies to improve PTA's network services. To excel in this role, you should possess: Experience with planning, installing, and supporting Ethernet network systems, including Cisco Catalyst, Nexus switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure. Knowledge of network operating systems (Windows, Linux) and services such as DNS, DHCP, and IP address management. Familiarity with Checkpoint firewalls, Cisco IP telephony, fibre-channel switching, F5 load balancing, and associated cabling infrastructure.
