What you'll be doing: Provide a therapeutic service for children and young people (aged 10-17) and their families when the child or young person has sexually harmed another person. Contribute and participate as a member of the New Street Sydney Service. Provide consultation and training to other health professionals and government agencies. Essential Criteria: Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work and eligibility for Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Registration: Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA) Registration (Psychology). Selection Criteria: Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (APHRA) Psychology or tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Demonstrated experience and knowledge, skills in providing therapeutic treatment to children and young people who have sexually harmed another person and/or experienced abuse. Demonstrated understanding of dynamics of intrafamilial child sexual abuse, contemporary principles of family-focused integrated treatment including safety planning and risk assessment and an ability to engage and work positively with children and young people who have sexually harmed others. Demonstrated clinical ability to work within a trauma-informed care and practice framework and other relevant best practice models of care. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member within a multi-disciplinary environment as well as collaborate with community partners. Advanced oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to use computer programs (e.g., Microsoft, computerized data entry, and client management systems) and maintain comprehensive and efficient clinical records. Demonstrated high-level understanding of the legislation and government policies, including NSW Health policies and legal issues surrounding violence such as family and domestic violence, trauma, and abuse of children, including the Special Commission Inquiry into Child Protection (Keep Them Safe) and the application of these in a health setting. Hold a current driver's license valid in Australia and willingness to use for work purposes.
