Next Generation Graduate Program Manager Location: Brisbane, QLD, AU; Canberra, ACT, AU; Sydney, NSW, AU; Melbourne, VIC, AU; Perth, WA, AU; Adelaide, SA, AU Company: CSIRO The opportunity The Next Generation Graduates Program (NGGP) is a cohort-based, industry-driven, multi-disciplinary graduate training program that aims to equip students with entrepreneurial thinking and skill sets that are key to boost breakthrough innovation in the exciting fields of AI and other emerging technologies. We train students to be prepared for the problem-based environments they will face upon entering their respective fields. They will engage with a distinguished national cohort of peers from diverse disciplines and locations, fostering a rich and dynamic learning experience. The NGGP Manager will develop, action, and review implementation, strategic and operational plans across the program lifecycle and manage the NGGP team to ensure delivery of the Program’s objectives. Your duties will include: Develop, implement, and review strategic and operational plans to achieve the Program’s objectives. Lead and develop the team, ensuring effective performance and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Oversee end-to-end administrative processes for student enrolment, onboarding, coursework, and milestone tracking in partnership with universities. Manage financial and reporting aspects of the Program while maintaining key stakeholder relationships across government, academia, and industry. Influence strategic decisions and provide support to the Science Support Manager. Ensure compliance with CSIRO’s values, policies, and governance frameworks while promoting a collaborative work environment. Location: All sites where CSIRO has a significant presence. Salary: AU$131,113.00 - $153,639.00 pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation Tenure: Specified term through to 31st of December 2027. Reference: 99404 To be considered you will need: A relevant qualification (e.g., degree or postgraduate degree) or demonstrated experience in complex program management, ideally in the higher education sector. Advanced expertise in managing the grant funding lifecycle, including budgeting, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholders and sectors. Proven ability to lead and manage a high-performing team, making assertive decisions while empowering team members. Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and take on new responsibilities. Capacity to quickly adapt to technological, structural, and procedural changes while maintaining professionalism and flexibility. Ability to work independently while proactively seeking support when needed. Knowledge of CSIRO systems and processes. Understanding of university policies, procedures, and operations. Familiarity with the HDR (Higher Degree by Research) space and student experience.
