Our District Analytics unit is seeking to engage a Director to lead the team. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the position is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of analytics services to NBMLHD. This role will lead and manage specialist teams (costing, clinical analytics, and corporate analytics) to oversee the creation of clinical and organisational analysis, ongoing development and utilisation of the data warehouse, and advanced analysis of organisation datasets. The Director will also be responsible for the oversight (direction and quality) of costing, ABM processes, and DNR submissions. Staff management and capability development is key to the role. The Director will facilitate a dynamic work environment providing opportunity for team members to cross-skill. This role will manage the allocated resource budget for the Analytics team. In this position, you will work collaboratively with Clinical Directors and Data Stakeholders across the LHD and the broader NSW Health landscape to generate valuable insights, improve the quality of data analysis, and ensure availability of accurate, consistent, and useful reports and dashboards. What You Will Bring To The Role Tertiary qualifications in data science, analytics, ICT or similar, or equivalent demonstrated experience, sufficient to provide a deep and nuanced understanding of the best practice in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and data science. Experience in leading and managing team(s) of data professionals, and expertise in embedding standardised, consistent, and robust processes for data analysis. Ability to upskill and empower technical staff to increase capability and adopt modern techniques and processes. Understanding of the health system and the relevant processes, systems, and regulatory requirements - demonstrated experience in clinical costing, casemix, and Activity Based Management processes, DNR submissions is essential. Experience managing complex data and analytics projects end-to-end – from gathering requirements, setting up data pipelines, designing and developing solutions, testing and iterating the solution to deploying, training, and maintaining products on an ongoing basis. Detailed knowledge of best-practice analytics workflows, processes, and tools including server management. Demonstrated experience in deriving valuable insights from data in a clinical, healthcare setting, including using data to understand and improve patient experience, or to understand the impact on patient outcomes arising from changes to policy and procedure. Demonstrated experience improving organisational performance through the development of business intelligence, KPI reporting, and data analysis. Proven skills in effectively communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a variety of specialisations and domains.
