Job Description

Queensland Health (Organisation site)Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service - Herston Coordinate after-hours nursing resources, patient flow, and emergency management at STARS, ensuring safe, cost-effective, patient-centred care. The purpose of this role is to be accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of human and/or material resources, and to support effective business practices for STARS after-hours. The role will: Co-ordinate the provision of human and material resources that supports nursing/midwifery staffing and patient flow needs across the facility. Support and assist coordination of safe, cost-effective consumer/person centred care. Lead and/or support the management of emergency procedures. Participate as a member of the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following within the context of the “key accountabilities” found in the role description: Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice. Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position. Provide leadership within a legal, professional, and ethical framework that ensures contemporary consumer/person centred care and staff management practices. Collaborate in the application and evaluation of contemporary human, material, and financial resource management for the multidisciplinary environment. Accountable for promoting effective and cost-efficient management of hospital resources and services in collaboration with the Line Managers and Nursing Directors within STARS. Support the application and evaluation of contemporary human resource, material, and financial management principles, including the Business Planning Framework and Nurses and Midwives Award provisions.
