Role details The Medical & Critical Care Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Nurse Practitioner (Hepatology) to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise as a Nurse Practitioner for patients with viral hepatitis and those requiring routine hepatocellular carcinoma screening (HCC) screening. The Nurse Practitioner (Hepatitis) is qualified to function autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced and expanded clinical role which includes assessment and management of clients using nursing knowledge and skills. Working in the Outpatient setting the primary duties include ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medication, managing, and treating viral hepatitis and chronic liver disease, and providing outreach services to community settings across MHHS. Key collaborative clinical relationships are with the Clinical Nurse Consultant (Hepatology) and the Hepatologist.
