Nurse Unit Manager (Lvl 2) - Ambulatory Care South Western Sydney Local Health District REQ553203 Employment Type: Temporary full time, 38 hours per week until June 2025 Location: Campbelltown Hospital Position Classification: Nurse Unit Manager Level 2 Remuneration: $2,551.10 per week About the Opportunity Campbelltown hospital has a fantastic opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to work in our Ambulatory Care Unit. Use this temporary contract to upskill in a different area of nursing or reignite your NUM skills. Our Ambulatory Care Unit is a small team working 7 days a week with a CNE onsite to assist. It provides care for children requiring a range of treatments including reviews, procedures, infusions and transfusions. What You'll Be Doing The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources. How to Apply To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.
