The Medihotel provides additional hospital capacity and enables innovative service delivery 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine. SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth. The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Nursing/Midwifery and Assistants in Nursing to deliver evidence-based care to achieve optimal patient outcomes within allocated resources. The Nurse Unit Manager has direct responsibility for improving and maintaining standards, developing solutions, and delivering outcomes consistent with service and organisational imperatives and targets. As a key leader in the interdisciplinary team, including FM staff, the Nurse Unit Manager will ensure that the Unit meets the requirement for delivery of a patient-centred service against key performance indicators: quality, budget, and human resource. The position provides a consultation and liaison service within their area of expertise to relevant internal and external customers.
