The Team: The North West Regional Hospital is located in Burnie, and services the whole of the North West Tasmania, including the West Coast and King Island. The Paediatric Ward is a 16-bed Paediatric level 4 service, caring for General paediatrics, general surgical, ENT and orthopaedics in the under 18 cohort. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be assisted by a Clinical Nurse Educator, several Associate Nurse Unit Managers, and several Grade 3 and 4 Registered Nurses. You will also be supported by the Women’s and Children’s Services Allied Health team. Royal Hobart Hospital is the major tertiary level service for the state and the University of Tasmania and other institutions will assist with your educational needs. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. The Role: As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals in providing compassionate and evidence-based care to a diverse patient population, including children with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. You will be committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment where cultural safety is a priority, ensuring that care is delivered in a way that acknowledges and respects the cultural values, beliefs, and needs of all patients, their families, and staff. Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $122,365 to $129,060 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type (RN) Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available. Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
