This is a unique chance to positively impact the food environment in remote First Nations communities in Northern Territory & Far North Queensland. 06th February, 2025 About the role This is not your everyday Nutritionist/Dietitian position. In this role, you will work in a small and passionate Nutrition team within ALPA's Retail Division. The Nutrition team is dedicated to ensuring the ALPA Board-owned Health and Nutrition Strategy is operationalised across all retail stores. ALPA's Nutrition Team is dedicated, proactive, and has a strong impact with recognised outcomes across the business and with both our stakeholders.The Nutritionist works closely with the Retail Division leadership and the community-based Store Managers to educate, audit, and participate in the delivery of key indicators related to food range, store layout, planograms, promotions, takeaway, and fresh food. What you'll do Work with the Retail Division leadership and the community-based Store Managers to educate, audit, and participate in the delivery of key indicators related to food range, store layout, planograms, promotions, takeaway, and fresh food. Provide practical delivery of expert advice on nutrition and assist the Retail Division in the promotion of the ALPA Health and Nutrition Strategy. Produce a suite of reports and monitor key performance indicators relevant to the Strategy. Support or lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition and health-related projects ALPA is leading or involved with. Maintain partnerships with health services and research organisations. Develop and supervise Community and Public Health Nutrition placements. Be a champion of the ALPA values and demonstrate a commitment to work health and safety. Please note: this role is based in Darwin with regular travel to remote communities in the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. Why apply? About you Hold a tertiary degree in nutrition and dietetics, eligible for Accredited Practicing Dietitian status with Dietitians Australia. Understanding of determinants of health affecting Aboriginal communities in remote Australia. Ability to work collaboratively and resolve conflicts. Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Effective interpersonal and communication skills adaptable to diverse needs. NT driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
