As a recognised leader in the design, delivery and support of industrial and electrical control solutions, SAGE Automation brings the best thinking to clients across resources, manufacturing, transport, defence, utilities and infrastructure sectors.We are currently looking for an OT Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Sydney.The OT Senior Systems Engineer combines expertise in both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems, with advanced design, delivery, and leadership skills in industrial control systems and electrical engineering. This role is responsible for the successful design and implementation of integrated OT/IT solutions for industrial environments, ensuring they meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules. Additionally, the Senior OT Systems Engineer leads technical teams, provides mentorship, and plays an active role in client relations and the sales process, identifying business opportunities.Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver IT and OT networking, security, and control systems solutions that meet the requirements and scope of projects. Implement safety-first approaches across all project activities. Manage technical risks, escalating high-risk items and promptly resolving project issues. Lead technical teams to deliver quality solutions, ensuring completion within project constraints (time/budget). Develop strong security controls for OT and IT infrastructure and troubleshoot network and security issues. Plan and manage quality deliverables in compliance with internal processes and methodologies. Execute commissioning plans and manage lifecycle configuration artifacts. Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, aligning technical outcomes with expectations. Assist in the development of bids and proposals, identifying new business opportunities. Essential Capabilities and Experience: Appropriate Engineering qualifications (Electrical, Systems, or related fields) or proven OT/IT industry experience. Proven experience (5+ years) in the automation or industrial control sector, particularly in IT/OT integration. Demonstrable knowledge of networking technologies (switches, routers, VLANs), security protocols, and virtual environments. Lead and mentor engineers and graduate engineers, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Provide leadership for technical teams on complex projects, managing schedules, quality, and budgets. Leadership experience in project environments, with certifications in Project Management (desirable).
