The Role: Grade 2 Occupational Therapist - Community Ongoing full-time position working 80 hours per fortnight with a monthly Accrued Day Off. We have an opportunity for a passionate Grade 2 Occupational Therapist within the Community Therapy team at Northern Health. This Grade 2 role provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/participants within the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACC-PYP). These services support people living at home whose capacity for independent living is at risk or who are at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long-term residential care. The CHSP service specifically provides home and community services for people aged 65 and over. The role also provides service to our Progressive Neurological Disease Clinic, including people with Motor Neurone Disease. The Grade 2 Occupational Therapist will be accountable for providing quality client care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment plans, with an appropriate level of supervision. They will also assist with and lead in-service education and quality improvement initiatives. Supervision of Grade 1 Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants, and undergraduate Occupational Therapy Students is a requirement of this position. This role will be based primarily at Broadmeadows Hospital; however, the staff member may be required to travel and work across other Northern Health campuses and programs.
