As a global leader in plant genetics and crop enhancement, we are seeking a talented Omega 3 Trait Development Scientist to join our dynamic R&D team. The incumbent would be responsible for facilitating the development of Omega 3-hybrid parents and varieties with suitable oil quality, agronomy, and grain yield for Nuseed’s Omega 3 target production zones. What will you be doing? Lead glasshouse and field experiments to deliver Omega 3 germplasm with optimal oil quality and agronomic traits for hybrid development. Engage in trait upload and conversion to Ogura hybrid parents and oversee crossing projects for genetic improvement. Perform comprehensive data collection and analysis, manage field nursery design, and support parent selection and trait introgression processes. Supervise parent seed management, hybrid development, testing, and advancement. Collaborate with teams to characterize variation in the Omega trait and develop breeding tools for enhanced selection efficiency. Ensure successful and timely delivery of key project milestones, utilizing available resources effectively. What do you bring? Holds a Bachelor’s degree in biological science. Possesses experience in plant breeding and genetic improvement. Project management experience which includes leading or coordinating teams. Excels in communication, relationship-building, and has a customer-centric approach. Is detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.
