About the Role: The key purpose of the Open Space and Recreation Administration Officer role is to provide administrative support to the Manager Open Space and Recreation and wider department to ensure smooth delivery of services through responsive, accurate, efficient and professional service to Bayside's internal and external customers. You will be responsible for: Supporting internal and external customer enquiries in relation to day to day functions of the Open Space and Recreation department. Ensuring the administrative needs of the Manager Open Space and Recreation and wider department are met. Providing efficient processing of invoices to support the operations of the Bayside Community Nursery. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to support improved efficiency and outcomes for the department. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies: Demonstrated experience and commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Skills and demonstrated experience in the delivery of administration support. Strong written and oral communication skills, including preparation of correspondence. Outstanding organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage work priorities and competing demands. Ability to review, improve and develop administration systems and processes. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and gain cooperation from staff within the team. Qualifications in administration and/or business would be advantageous. Experience in a Local Government environment, with prior experience/understanding of Council’s open space, recreation, street tree services being considered an advantage. Mandatory pre-employment requirements: Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check. Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
