About the role: The Operations Manager - Commercial aims to enhance the business by overseeing the daily operations of the waste branch as it specifically applies to valued commercial customers. This role acts as the interface post the sales interactions between the customer and the operations branch. This includes achieving KPIs, outstanding performance with the team, work health and safety, and growth. Key Responsibilities: Communicate with, direct, assist and support operational staff in performing their duties. Manage the interaction between customer requirements and operational teams through daily communication with site personnel as required to achieve the required objectives. Manage the day-to-day function of the operation to ensure compliance with company requirements and objectives and all statutory, contractual, Award and EBA requirements and client expectations. Seek to improve quality, performance, and competitiveness for service offering to customers. Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to. Complete client service requirements in accordance with their expectations, company standards, and all contractual documentation. Supervise all relevant sub-contractors employed on site while undertaking services in support of customer requirements. Ensure site training is conducted for applicable staff. Attend site meetings with clients as required. Co-ordinate specific client projects. Work with the team to ensure positive teamwork and communication is achieved at all times. Ensure cost-effective and safe waste and recycling collection services. Ensure customer service level expectations are met and/or exceeded. Effectively communicate with customers, drivers, and sub-contractors to ensure collection services and equipment deliveries meet and/or exceed customer expectations. Ensure toolbox/safety talks are conducted on a regular basis. About You: Demonstrated supervisory/management experience. Business development experience or qualification. Experience in a similar role with strong customer service management. Employee engagement across wages, employee supervision, leadership, and guidance. Commercial acumen, accountability across P&L, budgeting, forecasting for operations across areas such as fleet and labour hire. Understanding of key environmental regulations and legislation across local, state, and federal levels. Community & public liaison engagement experience.
