Job Description We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Inspections in Brisbane to provide strategic leadership and direction, driving profitability across our operations and contributing to the overall success of the Industrial & Environmental - Inspections (I&E) division in Australia. This role focuses on managing financial, technical, and personnel aspects to consistently meet or exceed company and customer expectations. Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to the Industrial Inspections division and ensure profitable operations. Provide HSE leadership ensuring that a zero-harm culture is facilitated throughout the business, acting swiftly in cases of non-compliance. Ensure labour requirements are established to meet client needs at all times, maintaining profitable operation on a shift by shift basis, with focus on productivity improvement using KPIs to monitor progress and get results. Investigate opportunities to cross-sell within the broader SGS Australia business, offering complete and total service solutions to existing, new and potential customers. Visit all key customers, maintain relationships and deliver new opportunities. Translate business strategy into pragmatic action plans and execute. Develop new services/products and concepts for the business line. Monitor market for the development of new technologies and trends and make recommendations for business improvement. Identify and promote future business leaders. Draft, negotiate and secure contracts for local and international clients. Promote the image, capability and integrity of the company to clients. Manage pre and post contract commercial issues. Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity. Lead, coach and develop a business-oriented team. Qualifications The successful candidate will bring the following qualifications and experience: AICIP certification, or a combination of API 510 and API 570 certifications. Previous experience working in a similar role with technical and professional knowledge in inspection services. Knowledge of Statutory Inspection and Advance NDT. Sound change management and project management experience. General understanding of statutory inspections, asset integrity and non-destructive testing. Operational experience and a sound knowledge of business procedures and internal controls. Advanced MS Excel skills for reporting and planning purposes. Sound knowledge of cost analysis techniques.
