Operations Manager - West Melbourne - Circa $180k My client is an international supplier of flexible and cost competitive logistics to the bulk liquids industry. About you: A Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering will be viewed favorably. A forklift license is mandatory, as is being comfortable with operating at heights. A first aid certificate will also be required. Strong experience in the bulk liquids industry, in particular relating to lab work, compliance, processing, measuring, logistics. Thrives in leading, mentoring and developing a small team. Experienced in preventative, predictive and break-down maintenance of equipment such as valves, steam traps, condensate pumps, pining, etc. Hands-on and happy to be involved in maintenance and cleaning with your team as necessary. A no-compromise approach to safety. Highly developed English verbal & written skills. What you will be doing: Managing the daily operations of the terminals. Monitoring operations and ensuring that staff comply with policies, procedures and regulations. Overseeing operational maintenance, 5S, OH&S, compliance testing, etc. Documenting and implementing an Operational Procedure and Quality Manual. Ensuring customer service obligations and expectations are exceeded. Monitoring spending vs budget, and negotiating with suppliers. Loading and unloading tankers as is necessary. Creating reports, logs, and other documentation. Other tasks and requirements as determined by business needs. Working closely with the Managing Director and the General Manager.
