Job Description

The Operations/Event Manager will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operational functions of the club including all departments, such as, foyer, gaming, bar and catering FOH (catering BOH staff report to Executive Chef), while also overseeing the events department including, planning, coordinating, and the delivery of events. Provide hands-on leadership while ensuring the continuous improvement to processes, waste reduction and ensuring smooth workflows are achieved, in line with the Club Willoughby vision statement, values, standards, and budget objectives with a focus on customer centric service delivery. From time to time, (in the absence of the CEO), the Operations/Events Manager will be required to assume the role of acting CEO. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the financial health of the club's operations. This includes managing budgets, monitoring revenue and expenses, and ensuring profitability. Identify areas where costs can be controlled and additional revenue generated, while maintaining a high standard of customer centric service. Maintain and oversee the club’s Work Health and Safety policy and procedure. Implement safety protocols and ensure the club provides a safe environment for staff, members, guests and contractors. This includes managing health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring staff are trained in emergency procedures in line with WHS legislation and best practice. Ensure the safety and security of all club property including stock and other assets. Develop and regularly review a robust risk management framework to allow for safe, sustainable and profitable business decisions to be made. Develop and publish operational staff rosters in-line with WR legislation and employee relations best practice while ensuring staffing levels are in line with customer and budgetary expectations. Overseeing all club policies and procedures to ensure they are compliant with relevant legislation and regulations. In addition, ensuring club policies and procedures are adhered to by all employees, members, guests and contractors. Promote Events department, respond to event inquiries, meet with clients and discuss their needs. Assist event clients to create and develop event concepts. Coordinate and produce accurate event orders. Manage any escalated policy/procedure breaches in an appropriate manner. Ensure compliance in line with legislation across all areas of club operations. Be a visible leader for both employees and club members and guests. Have a solid understanding of all club facilities, promotions, offers, events and activities and provide all staff, members and guests with details of such as required. Set, monitor and review appropriate operational KPI’s for various departments. Attend board meetings on request. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the CEO. This senior Management role requires a close working relationship with the CEO, Executive Chef, Management team and staff to ensure that the club's day-to-day operations and events department run smoothly while aligning with the Club Willoughby vision statement, values, standards and budget objectives. Exceptional leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively manage, lead and mentor teams across the business to deliver operational excellence. Demonstrate excellence in communication with all mediums across all levels. Ability to deal with complex situations, make effective business decisions. Possess sound creative problem-solving skills in high pressure environments. Hands-on leadership style with ability to motivate, coach and develop staff. Excellent customer service skills and focus. Strong interpersonal skills and dispute resolution skills. Time management skills. Work Health & Safety Obligations: Oversee the Club Willoughby Work Health & Safety Policy and review as required. Ensure all managers, staff, members, guests and contractors comply with the club’s Work Health & Safety Policy in accordance with the WH&S Act. Ensure all managers and staff are adequately trained to perform their assigned task safely so as to not endanger themselves of others. Ensure all managers and staff have access to appropriate PPE and other safety equipment to perform designated tasks safely. Ensure all managers and staff follow safe operating procedures. Respond to observed or reported hazards, incidents, or complaints in a timely manner according to club policy and procedure. Play a leading role on the WHS committee and assist with periodical WHS reporting requirements. Ensure all incidents, accidents or near misses are reported in accordance with club policy and procedure. Be familiar with venue safety, first aid, fire and emergency procedures and how to operate related equipment safely and effectively. Ensure such equipment has been regularly maintained and checked by certified contractors. Ensure adequate WHS training is provided for relevant employees, including but not limited to, emergency evacuation, first aid, anti-harassment/bullying, and armed hold up awareness training. Assume the role of First Aid officer and Chief Warden during an incident or emergency. #J-18808-Ljbffr
