About The Role An outstanding opportunity has become available for x4 Operator - Bench hands at our Maules Creek Mine. A Bench hand is an important role which must ensure that the blast hole loading is carried out in a way to optimise the profitability of Whitehaven Coal’s site operations. To be successful in the role you will: Liaise with Drill & Blast Superintendent to organise pre-blasting clean up and preparations, ensuring patterns are prepared to the required standard. Exercise discretion with the level of skill required to operate on a blast bench. Be responsible for the quality of your work subject to routine supervision. Ensure that pre-starts and take 5 are completed before using the machinery/equipment, perform or assist with preventative maintenance when required. About You Demonstrate good time management. Demonstrate safe and productive management of mine plant and facilities. Experienced in the provision of drilling and blasting activities within an Open Cut mining environment. Hold a current loader ticket with 12 months experience (preferred). Hold a current UHL ticket or have the ability to obtain a security license for handling explosives.
