Doveton College supports children, young people, and adults by providing high-quality teaching and learning programs across the 0 - 15 age range, with additional learning opportunities for parents and community members. It offers various educational and health support services, including Baby College, Maternal and Child Health services, and Adult Learning opportunities. With approximately 100 children in the Early Learning Centre, over 600 students in Foundation to Year 9, and many community participants, the College facilitates a range of programs that enhance student engagement and learning. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. SC2: Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies. SC3: Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice. SC4: Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. SC5: Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Department values and engaging in professional learning. SC6: Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed practice and catering for students with diverse educational needs. Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on planning, preparation, and teaching to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their teaching responsibilities. Responsibilities The role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to: Direct teaching of groups and individual students; Contributing to the development and evaluation of curriculum programs; Participating in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings; Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
