PR Account Manager Location: Melbourne Department: Public Relations Job Description We’re looking for an experienced Melbourne-based Account Manager to join our growing PR & Events team. About the Role In this role, you will: Drive and deliver exemplary service and project work across a variety of channels and PR functions, taking on directed day-to-day tasks with a high level of confidence and autonomy. Drive and/or support account management activities/processes. Proactively contribute ideas and content for new business proposals and PR strategies, and gain experience building and monitoring basic project budgets. Draft effective and high-quality written materials in a range of PR formats (e.g., media releases, eDM copy, spokesperson briefs, etc.). Liaise with and engage effectively with the media, including in-language media channels where required. Manage influencer/ambassador campaigns end-to-end including liaising and negotiating with talent management, content approvals, and end-of-campaign reporting. Plan and deliver the delivery of media and stakeholder events and campaign activations. Provide support for large scale events; with a high level of complexity and detail. Support in the coaching, learning and development of junior team members. About You Undergraduate or post-graduate studies in Public Relations, Communications or related field, and minimum 3-5 years’ relevant industry experience. Proven experience delivering effective strategies and implementation plans for PR, Events and integrated campaigns. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing for media and a variety of audiences with precise attention to detail. Excellent knowledge of print, online and broadcast media and PR processes, plus a genuine interest in news and current affairs - we are seeking a newshound with a nose for a good story and the confidence to pitch across all media formats. A solid network of media contacts - journalists, editors and producers - and the ability to land high impact coverage, per the above. Demonstrated experience working with ambassadors and influencers including negotiating with talent management and implementation of campaign deliverables. Experience working on successful media and stakeholder events/activations. Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects/tasks and meet set deadlines. Ability to accept feedback in a positive manner and apply learnings to future work. Interest in or experience engaging with multicultural communities, including basic understanding of Australia’s cultural demographics, relevant Government policies and approaches, principles of cultural diversity. Experience working on government or behaviour change campaigns in an agency environment would be considered a real bonus.
