Job Description

The Procurement and Logistics Manager is crucial in overseeing and optimizing supply chain operations, focusing on international logistics and local procurement. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from international suppliers to global mining operations. Key responsibilities include managing shipments, coordinating with international agents, negotiating contract pricing, and overseeing the procurement team in local and international sourcing activities. The role directly contributes to maintaining strong supplier relationships, optimizing shipping processes, and directly impacting the overall success of the company's operations. PROCUREMENT Lead and manage a team responsible for local procurement activities. Undertake international procurement, including sourcing and tendering processes. Collaborate with internal stakeholders for updates on goods and liaise with Finance for spend approvals. Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers. Negotiate contract pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness. Work closely with branches to adapt forecasting for contract pricing in relevant states. Manage buffer stock requirements with international suppliers, specifically for ground support and rock tools. Develop and refine procurement processes, procedures, and activities, identifying opportunities for improvements aligned with best practices. Monitor and manage the performance of key suppliers, implementing strategies for contact, negotiation, selection, development, and quality control. Responsible for selecting appropriate suppliers for purchase requests, validating supplier and contract. Update and manage purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. LOGISTICS Coordinate the booking of international shipments, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of goods from China and Malaysia to global mining operations. Liaise with international agents and suppliers to manage shipments effectively. Consolidate orders and contract freight forwarders for rates upon final confirmation. Oversee clearance documentation for arrivals into Australia, ensuring compliance with import/export requirements. Generate and maintain a master shipping report for reference and distribution to internal stakeholders. Keep stakeholders informed about shipment statuses and potential delays. Optimise shipping for space efficiencies and cost allocations. Manage and ensure the preparation of commercial documentation for international shipments, complying with relevant regulations. Update and manage purchase orders and shipments in the ERP system.
