PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - FOOD SUPPLEMENT MANUFACTURER Tired of being a number or not being heard? Our client is a family-run business who are looking for a "hands-on, all-round" Production Supervisor with experience in FMCG who has moved up the ranks from either running packaging lines or fitting machinery to implementing process improvements, leading and mentoring Production teams. We're seeking a passionate individual who's mechanically minded, able to think “outside the box” and driven to drive our client's business to the next level. You'll be someone who understands lean manufacturing processes in an FMCG environment and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and help out other business areas. This role will suit someone who is looking to make their role their own. During your downtime, you will plan and implement strategies or SOPs to improve production and warehouse areas and work closely with management and their small Production team. In short, our client is a family-run food supplement manufacturer in the southeast and is looking to appoint a Production Supervisor to manage, oversee & drive the planning and execution of production & warehousing. You will ensure the efficient scheduling & manufacture of the pre-weigh, blending, packing & warehousing areas to quality, safety, cost, and people requirements. Reporting to the Director your responsibilities will include: Drive and coordinate maintenance & set up activity to ensure equipment & production lines run efficiently while proactively designing and implementing solutions for continuous improvement and productivity projects. Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date customer order process requirements including consolidation of orders, customer communication, and scheduling of products within agreed lead times. Develop and maintain the master scheduling and planning process for Pre-weigh, blending, and finished goods. Develop and maintain demonstrated rates reviews. Consult and communicate performance KPIs in MSP via required forums with root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions. Provide an efficient/achievable production scheduling and regularly consult staff on performance to plan. Ensure production runs efficiently. Overall responsibility for the production & warehouse area and its people. (team of 10) Onboarding, selection, recruitment, and training of production staff. Work closely with purchasing to ensure fulfillment of blending and or material/packaging purchasing to meet production schedule requirements. To secure this role you will require the following: Tertiary disciplines or certificates in food processing Trade qualified as a Fitter and Turner (desirable) Previous team leadership, production coordination, or supervision experience in FMCG. Proven human & food safety regulatory understanding and supervision. Proven skills and expertise in performance management & people development. Experience in machinery setup and maintenance. Must be analytical, mechanical aptitude, and technically sound. Able to think outside the box with a proactive approach. Excellent communication skills including strong negotiation and influencing skills. Be multi-skilled and happy to be hands-on along with leading and motivating staff.
